Child Of The 90's

Microsoft Office began a campaign in 2012 called ‘The Browser You Love to Hate’ in order to introduce a new and positive brand message. Microsoft launched a Tumblr dedicated to telling the story of the browser’s comeback and circulating the campaign. In January 2013, Column Five created ‘Child of the 90’s’ the third advertisement of the campaign, which became a viral hit within five days.
The ad ‘Child of the 90’s’ in my opinion is a good advert even though it is simple. The ad is using toys and features of the 90’s to remind people what it was like and what one of the first internet browsers was, as Internet Explorer came out in 1995 and the first internet browser came out in 1990. The advert was directed to people who were born in 1984-1989 as Internet Explorer would have came out during their child hood.
This advert could be improved by adding in the new features that Internet Explorer has added since its last update instead of only showing its new logo. The advert only shows items such as toys and clothes in the advert witch has nothing to with Internet Explorer but at the same time I know why they showed items from the 90’s as that is when Internet Explorer was released.
