David Attenborough

David Attenborough was born on May 8th in London. He attended Cambridge University to study natural science, he graduated in 1947. Shortly after graduating he served two years in the Royal Navy. He then went and got married to Elizabeth Ebsworth Oriel who later died in 1997 David Attenborough joined the BBC in 1952 at Alexander Palace. Then in 1956 he started the series ‘Zoo Quest’, whilst at the BBC he also done political broadcasts, archaeological quizzes, short stories, gardening and religious programmes. In 1965 when Michael Peacock got promoted from BBC2 to BBC1 Attenborough became the controller for BBC2, therefore he was responsible for introduction of colour for Britain. In 1969 he was appointed director of programs for the BBC2, giving him editorial responsibilities for both of the BBC’s channels. After eight years of working at the BBC he resigned in 1973 to continue programme making, it was then he made ‘Eastwards with Attenborough’, a national history series set in South East Asia. He then continued doing other life and miscellanies programs. He is currently doing other wildlife documentaries now but the last documentary he was in was Charles Darwin and The Tree Of Life.
